This thematic area deals with the economic and environmental optimization of
the operations of collection and characterization of woody biomass, and
in general the activities aimed at improving the forest heritage. The
area studies the most modern working systems, including the push
mechanization, and precision forestry applied to the harvesting of
timber. The
area also covers plantations outside the forest, including industrial
plantations, as well as occupational safety and ergonomics, where
research is also aimed at increasing the effectiveness of vocational
training in a precision training perspective.
