On Friday 10 January, first on RAI 3’s “Buongiorno Regione” and then on the 2.00 pm TGR, a report was broadcast on the work carried out in the dendrochronology laboratory of the CNR IBE headquarters in San Michele all’Adige.
Inside the laboratory, directed by Dr Mauro Bernabei, it is possible, thanks to the analysis of the growth rings of trees, to study the past and present which intertwine to tell ancient stories and protect our cultural heritage. In the television report we will discover how this laboratory is able to date buildings, works of art and even musical instruments, revealing surprising and often unexpected details. A journey through time made possible by science, which takes us back up to 11,000 years, demonstrating that every tree carries with it a memory of the world around it.”Inside the laboratory, directed by Dr Mauro Bernabei, it is possible, thanks to the analysis of the growth rings of trees, to study the past and present which intertwine to tell ancient stories and protect our cultural heritage.
