Awarded the Gaetano Castro prize for degree thesis on wood

Conlegno in collaboration with CREA – Ricerca in 2021 launched the call in memory of Dr. Gaetano Castro in support of a three-year degree, master’s or research doctorate thesis on issues related to wood. (https://www.conlegno.eu/premio-gaetano-castro).
The awarding of the winners was held on May 5, 2022 in the CREA conference room. Matteo Pol, a student of Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Padua, was the winner of the Gaetano Castro prize as the best master’s degree thesis on wood on a national scale.
The thesis, carried out at the CNR-IBE of Sesto Fiorentino with the coordination of Dr. Michela Nocetti and prof. Gianluca Tondi, has used smartphone technology for the characterization of the mechanics of wooden samples.
Matteo was invited on May 5 at the CREA headquarters in casale Monferrato where he exhibited his work and was awarded a € 1000 mark (https://fb.watch/cTebF34LDU/)
